Ok, this is awkward. But perhaps someone who is not Brazilian read this blog. For those, I’ll write this one in English.
Well, if you haven’t noticed yet, here, I talk about love. Love and all the things that I don’t agree with the modern society. And I think you don’t either, but you pretend.
I don’t know if it’s only in Brazil, but here some people can’t make the distinction between real feelings and what they want to feel. Of course, it’s easier to believe in what we may want. To be clear, I don’t think that it’s some kind of “fake love”, I just believe that it’s not as real as it seems. Fair enough.
What is that feeling, anyway? It’s hard to define. But the closest that I’ve ever seen was written by one of the greatest rock band ever, called Radiohead. Thom Yorke (singer) wrote, in the spectacular song “Fake Plastic Trees”, three clever lines:
“She looks like the real thing
She tastes like the real thing
My fake plastic love”
So, it seems to be real, it tastes like real, but it’s a kind of fake love. Why plastic? Because it’s malleable, you can let it as you want. It’s perfect, isn’t it?
